Lakers 110, Jazz 99: Pau Gasol scored 23 points and matched season highs with 17 rebounds and eight assists as the host Lakers defeated the Jazz to snap a six-game losing streak.

Kendall Marshall posted career highs of 20 points and 15 assists in his first start of the season as Los Angeles won for the first time since Dec. 20. Jodie Meeks scored 18 points, Nick Young added 16 points and Robert Sacre grabbed 10 rebounds.

Gordon Hayward scored 22 points and Enes Kanter contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds for Utah, which dug itself a hole with an 18-point first-quarter deficit. Richard Jefferson also tallied 16 points.

The Jazz trailed 83-67 entering the final stanza and rallied to within four points after Derrick Favors’ dunk with 1:35 left. Meeks and Marshall each drained 3-pointers in a 32-second span and Young’s three-point play made it an 11-point margin as the Lakers finished off the victory.

Los Angeles was 11-of-17 from the field in the opening quarter while taking a 30-12 lead. The Jazz moved within single digits late in the second quarter before the Lakers took a 52-40 lead into the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: G Wesley Johnson added 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting for the Lakers. … Jazz PG Trey Burke had nine assists but tallied just six points on 3-of-15 shooting. … Marshall, who is the first Los Angeles player since Kobe Bryant (23 points, 15 assists on Feb. 12, 2002 against Washington) to have 20 points and 15 assists in the same game, was recently recalled from the D-League and started because PGs Steve Nash, Steve Blake and Jordan Farmar are all out with injuries.
