Anthony Marshall scored 16 points and No. 23 Nevada-Las Vegas improved to 7-0 for the second straight season with an 82-51 victory over host Illinois State on Wednesday.

The Rebels held Illinois State to 30.8 percent shooting from the field while cruising to victory in a contest that is part of the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge.

The loss was the 21st in a row to ranked programs for Illinois State (5-2). The Redbirds’ last win over a ranked team came against Iowa during the 1987-88 season.

Derrick Jasper and Chace Stanback scored 12 points apiece for UNLV.

Austin Hill scored 15 points for Illinois State, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.

The Redbirds made 4 of 28 from 3-point range.

The Rebels will search for their eighth consecutive victory when they visit Nevada on Saturday. A victory would give UNLV its best start since the 1990-91 Rebels won 34 straight games before losing to Duke in the Final Four.
