Mike Marra scored 23 points and Louisville had its way inside in a 97-70 rout of South Alabama on Saturday in a non-conference matchup.

Marra made five of Louisville’s six 3-pointers, but the Cardinals (6-0) did most of their damage closer to the rim.

Louisville shot 51 percent (36-of-70) from the field, with most of its attempts of the high-percentage variety. The Cardinals scored 52 points in the paint and had 14 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second-chance points.

Peyton Siva scored 15 points and Rakeem Buckles added 12 and 14 rebounds for Louisville, which missed 11-of-30 free throws.

South Alabama (2-5) by contrast scored only 14 points in the paint and shot 35 percent (20-of-57).

Martino Brock scored 24 points and Augustine Rubit added 15 and 14 rebounds for the Jaguars, who have lost four straight.
