Jeremy Green scored a game-high 22 points Sunday, including five 3-pointers, and Stanford held off visiting UC Riverside late to win, 55-48.

Playing for the first time in 14 days, Stanford (5-2) led 21-14 at halftime and maintained a seven-point lead for most of the second half. Junior forward Josh Owens scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and junior point guard Jarrett Mann added six points.

UC Riverside (3-5), which has never beaten a Pac-10 team since becoming a Division I school in 2001, was led by Javon Borum's 19 points. Junior guard Phil Martin, who entered the game averaging a team-high 16.6 points, finished with 12 points on 6-of-12 shooting.

Green, the Cardinal’s leading scorer, made 5-of-10 of his 3-pointers and showed no signs of the exhaustion that caused him to collapse after a win over DePaul on Nov. 28.

Both teams struggled offensively, with UC Riverside shooting 39 percent from the field and Stanford hitting just 35 percent of its shots.

Freshman Dwight Powell, who has started all seven of Stanford's games at forward, finished with just one point against UC Riverside after recording his first career double-double against DePaul (13 points, 10 rebounds).
