After a week off to think about a rough loss, Wesley Witherspoon was ready to go. Witherspoon scored 28 points and Memphis rebounded from a loss in its last game to knock off Lipscomb, 88-70 in a non-league matchup on Thursday.

Memphis (10-2) lost to Georgetown, 86-69, last Thursday and had a long time to stew about it. Witherspoon was apparently motivated as he shot 10-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-5 from the arc. He added 12 rebounds and two assists. Will Barton added 15 points and Joe Jackson had 13 for the Tigers, who led 42-32 at the half.

Adnan Hodzic scored 22 points for Lipscomb (7-4), who have lost two straight after going on a five game win streak.

Josh Slater scored 12 points and Brandon Brown added 10 for the Bisons, who were outrebounded by the Tigers 36-21.
