Alabama wasted no time putting Toledo away Monday night with a 83-41 non-conference victory.

The Crimson Tide (8-6) have won three straight and four of their last five with Southeastern Conference play about to begin. Alabama opens its SEC slate Saturday when it visits Mississippi State.

Toledo shot 53 percent from the field in the first half, but trailed 44-24. The Rockets committed 14 turnovers which the Crimson tide turned into 18 points. Tony Mitchell scored 13 points in the first half, and Charvez Davis added 12.

Mitchell and Davis each finished with 21, and JaMychal Green added 14 for the Crimson Tide, who finished with 36 points off 25 Rockets turnovers.

Jay Shunnar scored 13 points and was the only player in double figures for Toledo (3-11), which opened the season with nine consecutive losses and has dropped two straight since a three-game win streak.
