JaMychal Green had game-highs of 18 points and eight rebounds, and Alabama overcame a slow start to pick up its seventh win in eight games, 67-56 over host LSU on Thursday.

Trevor Releford scored 15 points for the first-place Crimson Tide (17-8, 9-2 SEC West).

Ralston Turner had 17 points and Malcolm White added 14 for LSU (10-16, 2-9 SEC West), which dropped its ninth straight.

The Tigers started the game with a 7-0 run as the Crimson Tide didn't score until Green's jumper five minutes into the game. Alabama, though, ended the first half on a 13-5 run to take a five-point lead into halftime.

LSU hung around and closed the gap to 60-56 on a 3-pointer by Matt Derenbecker with 4:05 left, but the Crimson Tide clamped down on defense, and held the Tigers scoreless the rest of the way.
