JaJuan Johnson had 20 points, a career-high 17 rebounds and seven blocks as No. 8 Purdue stayed alive in the race for the Big Ten regular-season title with a 67-47 victory at Michigan State on Saturday.

E’Twaun Moore added 17 points and Lewis Jackson had 16 points and seven assists for the Boilermakers (24-5, 13-3 Big Ten), who have won six straight games. Purdue, who swept the Spartans for the first time since 1997, started the day a game behind Ohio State in the league.

Kalin Lucas had 23 points to lead Michigan State (16-12, 8-8), which sits squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

Purdue led by as many as 15 in the first half, but Michigan State scored the final six points to close within 33-24 at halftime. Johnson had 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in the first 20 minutes for the Boilermakers, who made 4-of-10 from 3-point range. Lucas scored 15 points in the first half for the Spartans, who made only 1 of 11 3-pointers.
