Brandon Young converted the go-ahead three-point play with 1.3 seconds remaining as DePaul capped off an unlikely comeback with an 84-81 victory over visiting Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Young rebounded from a scoreless effort in his last game with 26 points for the Blue Demons (10-4, 1-1 Big East), who sent the Panthers to their fourth straight loss for the first time since Feb. 2-11, 2001.

Pitt (11-5, 0-3) appeared to have the game in hand when John Johnson hit two free throws to give the Panthers an 81-77 lead with 17 seconds remaining.

Young answered with an unchallenged layup seven seconds later and DePaul immediately fouled Isaiah Epps on the subsequent possession.

Epps missed both free throw attempts and the Panthers allowed Young to drive the lane, where he drew a foul on Ashton Gibbs to tie the game at 81.

Young calmly hit the free throw to give DePaul the lead and hit a pair of free throws after he intercepted a full-court desperation pass and was fouled.

Talib Zanna had a career-high 16 points for Pittsburgh, which fell to 7-2 all-time against the Blue Demons.
