UNLV 65, SAN DIEGO STATE 63: Anthony Marshall scored on a fast-break layup with 38 seconds left as the No. 16 Runnin' Rebels snapped their six-game losing streak against the No. 14 Aztecs.

Marshall's basket made it 64-63 and after Justin Hawkins' free throw with 10 seconds remaining, San Diego State's Xavier Thames turned it over with three seconds to go.

San Diego State (20-4, 6-2 Mountain West Conference) had a chance to tie or take the lead, but committed turnovers on its last three possessions.

UNLV (22-4, 6-2) led by as many as 12 in the second half but San Diego State charged back to take a 63-62 lead with 1:25 left on a Chase Tapley 3-pointer. Tapley finished with a game-high 22 points.

Mike Moser led UNLV with 19 points, nine rebounds, a career-high six steals and four blocks. Oscar Bellfield went 6 of 12 for 15 points, a stark contrast to his first outing against the Aztecs when he was 1 of 12 for three points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UNLV outscored San Diego State 14-2 on fast break points. ... The Runnin' Rebels closed the first half on a 15-4 run to take a 37-29 lead at intermission. ... Marshall had eight assists.
