NORTH CAROLINA 88, MARYLAND 64: Tyler Zeller scored 30 points and added eight rebounds and three blocks to lead No. 6 North Carolina over Maryland.

The win gives the Tar Heels (26-4, 13-2 ACC) six straight and sets up a winner-take-all with No. 3 Duke for the regular season conference title at Cameron Indoor on Saturday. Zeller connected on a career-high 20 of 23 from the free throw line, falling just a single free throw short of the all-time ACC record of 21, set by South Carolina’s Grady Wallace in 1957.

The Terrapins (16-13, 6-9 ACC) dropped their second consecutive game and fell to just 4-9 in their last 13 outings. Maryland hosts Virginia on Saturday to conclude its regular season schedule.

North Carolina led from the onset in this one, establishing a 16-4 lead from the opening tip. The Terps battled but never had an answer, trailing at halftime 36-25.

After the break, Maryland made a push, cutting the North Carolina lead to 36-30 less than two minutes in, but the Tar Heels countered with a 37-13 run that put things out of reach for good.

John Henson finished with 19 points and nine rebounds for North Carolina, while Nick Faust scored 17 to pace Maryland. ACC leading scorer Terrell Stoglin struggled early and was held to 16 points on 4-of-18 shooting.

GAME NOTEBOOK: This was just the 16th time in 40 games that Henson has not finished with a double-double. … James Padgett had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Maryland for just his second career double-double. … North Carolina now leads the all-time series over Maryland 117-57.
