Eric Wise scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and the host Trojans went on a 23-4 run in the second half to cruise past the 49ers.

Southern California (2-0) finished the first half on a 9-4 run highlighted by back-to-back 3-pointers by Ari Stewart and J.T. Terrell to take a 29-24 lead into intermission.

The 49ers, who lost four 1,000-point career scorers from their 25-9 team last season, tied the game at 35-35 but then managed one field goal and a pair of free throws over the next 11 minutes to fall behind 58-39.

Both Stewart and Terrell finished with 10 points and Dewayne Dedmon had eight points and 10 rebounds for USC.

James Ennis' 3-pointer gave Long Beach State (1-1) a 3-0 advantage, its largest lead of the game. Ennis finished with 13 points while teammate Mike Caffey led all scorers with 17.
