No. 20 Wisconsin 73, Cornell 40: Jared Berggren, Ben Brust and Ryan Evans combined for 48 points and 29 rebounds and the Badgers cruised to victory over the visiting Big Red.

Brust had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Wisconsin (2-1), which opened the game on a 23-4 run. Evans added his third career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Berggren had four of the Badgers’ season-high nine blocked shots and finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Devin Cherry scored 13 points for Cornell (1-3), which shot 26.2 percent and went 2-for-15 from 3-point range. The undersized Big Red were also outrebounded 50-26.

Wisconsin held the Big Red to 16 points in the second half and led by 32 after Brust scored with 5:15 remaining, as the Badgers bounced back from a 74-56 loss to Florida on Wednesday.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wisconsin improved to 84-6 in non-conference games at the Kohl Center under coach Bo Ryan. …Shonn Miller had a team-high seven rebounds for Cornell. …The Big Red committed 18 turnovers.
