Ben McLemore scored 22 points and the visiting Jayhawks stretched their winning streak to nine by upending the Buckeyes.

Jeff Withey had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Elijah Johnson tallied 13 points and Travis Releford added 11 as Kansas (10-1) defeated Ohio State for the sixth straight time, a stretch that includes last season’s Final Four matchup.

Deshaun Thomas scored 16 points and Shannon Scott added 15 for Ohio State (9-2), which shot just 25 percent in the second half and 30.8 percent overall while having a five-game winning streak snapped.

Kansas led 37-35 at halftime before outplaying the Buckeyes over the final 20 minutes. Ohio State scored the first five points of the second half and then missed its next 12 field-goal attempts. McLemore scored six points during a 15-4 run that saw the Jayhawks take a 64-52 lead with 4:36 to play.

Ohio State had an eight-point lead with just over six minutes left in the first half after rolling off 14 consecutive points. But Kansas finished the half with a 14-4 spurt to take the two-point halftime advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas halted Ohio State’s streak of 39 consecutive non-conference victories. … The Buckeyes went 2-for-18 from 3-point range in the second half to finish 8-of-31 from behind the arc. … Withey blocked just one shot after having 54 rejections over the first 10 games.
