Prentiss Hubb had a team-high 19 points and a game-high nine assists, leading the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish past the host Miami Hurricanes, 73-59, in an ACC game on Sunday night.

Notre Dame (5-8, 2-5), which won its second straight game, also got 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds from Nate Laszewski and 16 points and five boards from Juwan Durham. Laszewski, who entered the game as the most efficient shooter in the nation, made 7-of-10 from the floor, including 1-of-2 on three-pointers.

Hubb made 5-of-7 on three-pointers. His five three-pointers were a game high and two more than the entire Miami team. In addition, Notre Dame shot 65.4 percent from the floor in the second half.

Miami (6-8, 2-7) has lost two straight and eight of its past 11. The Hurricanes were led by Kameron McGusty, with a game-high 20 points. The Hurricanes also got 16 points from Isaiah Wong and 10 from Elijah Olaniyi.

Miami played with just seven scholarship players as two new injuries were reported: Anthony Walker (bruised right heel) and Earl Timberlake (left shoulder). In addition, Sam Waardenburg and Rodney Miller are out for the year, and last season's leading scorer, Chris Lykes, has been out since injuring his ankle in the second game of the season.

Notre Dame coach Mike Brey, upset at the way his starters practiced leading up to this game, began the game with his second unit. That included a walk-on and two freshmen making their first starts -- Tony Sanders of Miami and Matt Zona. That group trailed Miami 6-3 before Brey put his starters in the game.

The Irish recovered, however, taking a 30-22 lead into halftime. Miami shot just 30 percent in the first half, including 1-for-11 on three-pointers. Notre Dame shot 42.3 percent, including 5-for-11 on three-pointers.

Notre Dame raced to a 19-point lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half, but Miami responded with a 9-0 run.

The Hurricanes kept coming, cutting their deficit to 63-56 with 4:34 left. However, the Irish withstood the rally to earn their first two-game win streak of the season.

For the game, Notre Dame shot 53.8 percent from the floor, including 10-of-18 on three-pointers (55.6 percent). Miami shot 38.7 percent, including 3-of-22 on three-pointers (13.6 percent).
