Tony Woods had 14 points and seven rebounds and the Ducks withstood a tough season-opening test from the visiting Lumberjacks.

Northern Arizona used an 11-2 run to take its first lead of the game with 5:44 remaining at 67-66, but the Lumberjacks missed their next eight shots and Oregon drew clear for the victory.

Damyean Dotson scored 13 points and E.J. Singler had 12 for the Ducks, who led by 10 at halftime. Freshman guard Dominic Artis added 10 points.

Northern Arizona, which went 1-15 in the Big Sky Conference last season, made a strong first impression under first-year coach Jack Murphy. Dewayne Russell scored 15 points, and Michael Dunn added 13.

Oregon was 22-of-32 (68.8 percent) from the free-throw line, while Northern Arizona was 5-of-10. The Lumberjacks were 10-of-29 (34.5 percent) from beyond the arc.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oregon, which ended the game on a 17-6 run, outrebounded Northern Arizona 42-35. ... The game was the first of six straight on the road for the Lumberjacks. … Northern Arizona guard Gabe Rogers was 3-of-13 shooting and made only two of his nine 3-point attempts.
