Wichita State 75, DePaul 62: Malcolm Armstead scored 17 points and Demetric Williams added 16 as the Shockers held off the Blue Demons in the semifinals of the Cancun Classic.

Carl Hall chipped in 11 points for the Shockers (5-0), who never trailed and held a 27-22 halftime advantage.

Brandon Young collected 19 points, six rebounds and five assists for DePaul, and Moses Morgan added 15 points off the bench.

The Blue Demons (2-2) had an opportunity to cut into a 65-57 deficit when Williams was whistled for his fourth foul with 1:32 left. Young made just one of two free throws and Armstead hit four straight from the line down the stretch.

Hall added a three-point play to seal the win for Wichita State.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blue Demons have made a 3-pointer in 583 consecutive games dating to 1993, but they didn't have much success from long range, going 5-for-22. … DePaul will face Western Kentucky in the consolation game at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, and Wichita State will face Iowa in the championship game to follow. … Young has scored in double figures in eight straight games and 48 times in his career.
