No. 9 Arizona 93, Northern Arizona 50: Mark Lyons scored 18 points and Solomon Hill added 17 as the Wildcats trounced the visiting Lumberjacks.

Freshman star Brandon Ashley grabbed 11 rebounds while Nick Johnson and Angelo Chol scored 10 apiece for Arizona (4-0), which shot 57.7 percent from the floor and got 40 points off the bench. Johnson had seven assists and four steals.

Dewayne Russell was the only starter to reach double figures with 13 points for Northern Arizona (2-4).

The Wildcats grabbed a 39-26 lead at the half behind eight points from Lyons and seven from Johnson but really opened things up after the break. Lyons hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 14-2 burst to open the second half.

The Lumberjacks managed one field goal during an eight-minute stretch later in the period and Arizona took off on a 23-3 burst to push it out to 76-37 with 6:34 left. The Wildcats ended up outscoring Northern Arizona 54-24 in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Lumberjacks fell to 0-24 all-time against ranked teams and dropped their 29th straight to Arizona. … Northern Arizona shot 36.4 percent from the floor, including 29.4 from 3-point range. … Wildcats reserve swingman Kevin Parrom went 2-of-3 from 3-point range and is 9-of-14 from beyond the arc on the season.
