No. 2 Michigan 94, Northwestern 66: Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. combined for 44 points as the Wolverines ran away early from the host Wildcats.

Burke had 23 points, five assists and four steals as all five Michigan (14-0, 1-0 Big Ten) starters scored in double digits. Hardaway hit his first four 3-pointers and finished with 21 points. Jordan Morgan scored all 12 of his points in the second half and added 13 rebounds.

Jared Swopshire and Kale Abrahamson each scored 11 points for the Wildcats (9-5, 0-1), who were without leading scorer Reggie Hearn.

Burke hit his first five shots as Michigan raced to a 20-4 lead. Hardaway was perfect from the 3-point line in the first half and Michigan hit 8 of 12 from the arc on the way to a 51-30 halftime lead.

Michigan shot 59.6 percent from the floor (34 of 57) and outrebounded Northwestern 37-21.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hearn (ankle) did not play for the second straight game. ... The Wolverines are 25-0 when scoring at least 80 points under coach John Beilein. ... Michigan freshman Nik Stauskas, one of the nation's top 3-point shooters, hit just 2 of 7. He entered the game shooting 56.5 percent (39-of-69).
