TCU 62, No. 5 Kansas 55: Garlon Green scored 20 points as the host Horned Frogs won the first Big 12 Conference game in school history with their first victory over a top five team.

Connell Crossland scored eight points and grabbed 15 rebounds and guard Nate Butler Lind added 10 points for TCU (10-12, 1-8), which won for the first time since a 67-64 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 30.

Freshman guard Ben McLemore scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Kansas (19-3, 7-2), which had its string of 264 games without consecutive losses - the longest in Division I - snapped. The Jayhawks had an NCAA-best 18-game win streak broken by Oklahoma State on Saturday.

TCU, playing before only its second sellout home crowd since 2004, jumped out to an 8-0 lead as Kansas failed to score until the 12:42 mark on a jumper by freshman forward Jamari Traylor. The Horned Frogs extended the lead to 12-2 after 14 minutes as the Jayhawks connected on just one of their first 15 field goal attempts while also turning the ball over eight times.

Kansas crawled back to within 22-13 at halftime and cut the TCU lead to 27-19 on a Kevin Young layup with 16:36 remaining before TCU answered with a 10-2 run over the next five minutes to boost the lead to 37-21. The Jayhawks got as close as 44-40 on a Jeff Withey jumper with 6:50 left, but Green scored the next seven points and Kansas never got any closer than five points the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The 13 first-half points were the fewest for the Jayhawks since the school began keeping records in 1988-89 and the lowest output since Kansas scored 18 in a half in 1999 against Iowa State. ... TCU came into the contest with an RPI of 223. ... The Horned Frogs had lost their previous eight Big 12 games by at least nine points.
