No. 2 Florida 83, Mississippi State 58: Mike Rosario scored 18 points and Erik Murphy added 17 as the Gators rebounded from their first loss since Christmas by rolling over the visiting Bulldogs.

Casey Prather contributed 12 points off the bench and Michael Frazier added 11 in his first career start for Florida (19-3, 9-1 SEC), which shot 53.4 percent from the field. Kenny Boynton collected 10 points and six assists for the Gators, who lost at Arkansas 80-69 on Tuesday.

Gavin Ware poured in 16 points and Colin Borchert 14 for Mississippi State (7-15, 2-8). The Bulldogs have dropped eight straight games – two of those to Florida.

Florida shot 55.2 percent from the field in the first half to push its lead as high as 18. Rosario led the way with 10 points in the opening 20 minutes and the Gators settled for a 42-26 advantage at intermission.

Mississippi State had 11 turnovers in the first half and Florida scored 16 points off them. Scottie Wilbekin’s 3-pointer started a 10-0 run at the beginning of second half for the Gators and they were on their way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Mississippi State’s Jalen Steele, averaging 9.3 points, was suspended indefinitely Saturday for violating team rules. That left the Bulldogs with eight players in uniform – six on scholarship. … Florida F Will Yeguete had arthroscopic knee surgery Friday and hopes to return in 4-to-6 weeks. Yeguete is averaging six points and 6.3 rebounds. … Boynton, a senior point guard, has 25 assists and only six turnovers in the last four games.
