UNLV 64, No. 16 New Mexico 55: Anthony Bennett had 17 points and 12 rebounds and the Rebels snapped their two-game losing skid with a impressive effort against the visiting Lobos.

Bryce Dejean-Jones had 16 points and nine boards and Katin Reinhardt added 16 points for UNLV (18-6, 5-4 MWC), which led by 14 at halftime and never trailed.

New Mexico (20-4, 7-2) cut the lead to 56-48 on Alex Kirk’s basket with 3:34 left, but Reinhardt scored to stretch the lead to 10 and the Rebels ended a three-game losing streak against the Lobos. Kirk led the Lobos with 17 points and 16 rebounds, and Cameron Bairstow chipped in 13 points.

The Lobos, who lead the Mountain West by a half-game, shot 33.9 percent overall and were 4-of-22 from beyond the arc.

While New Mexico struggled from 3-point range, UNLV made nine of its 22 attempts. Reinhardt hit four 3-pointers for the Rebels, who were coming off a 64-55 loss to last-place Fresno State on Wednesday. Anthony Marshall added 11 points and six assists.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UNLV improved to 13-1 at home this season. The Rebels have won 31 of their last 32 regular-season games at the Thomas & Mack Center. … New Mexico leading scorers Tony Snell and Kendall Williams were held to a combined 11 points on 4-of-19 shooting. …UNLV F Carlos Lopez-Sosa provided a spark off the bench with five rebounds.
