Andre Hollins drained the tiebreaking 3-pointer in the extra session and scored 21 points as the Golden Gophers downed the Badgers in Big Ten play.

Minnesota (18-7, 6-6 Big Ten) scored the final six points of regulation and the first five in overtime while snapping a four-game losing streak against Wisconsin. Austin Hollins added 11 points and Rodney Williams scored 10 for the Gophers.

Sam Dekker scored 14 points and Ben Brust added 11 for the Badgers (17-8, 8-4), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Minnesota’s Joe Coleman hit two free throws with 17.4 seconds left to force overtime, and Andre Hollins hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 3:40 left in overtime. Hollins scored seven of the Gophers’ nine overtime points.

Wisconsin scored the first six points of the game and led 24-14 on a jumper by Ryan Evans with 2:52 left in the half. Minnesota scored the final eight points to pull within two at the break but the Badgers regained control and had a 49-43 edge with five minutes to play before wilting.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota’s victory was its fifth in the last 21 games against Wisconsin. … Williams returned from a one-game absence due to a shoulder injury. … The Badgers played a third straight overtime game for the first time in school history.
