No. 19 Memphis 81, Houston 74: Adonis Thomas led five Tigers in double figures with 22 points as host Memphis extended its winning streak to 17 games.

Memphis, which has beaten Houston 12 straight times at home, took the lead for good early in the second half when Tarik Black scored six straight points to break open a 41-all tie. The Tigers never trailed again, eventually building as much as a 15-point advantage.

Black scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half for the Tigers (23-3, 12-0 C-USA). D.J. Stephens added 14 points and Chris Crawford nearly notched a triple-double, scoring 11 points while recording game highs of 13 rebounds and nine assists.

The Cougars (15-10, 4-8) were led by Joseph Young with 22 points while TaShawn Thomas added 20. Houston, which has lost two straight, trailed 74-59 before going on a 10-1 run, but it never got closer than six the rest of the way.

Memphis led 35-29 at the half and trailed only briefly in the game's opening minutes.

Game notebook: The Tigers are tied with Akron for the nation's longest current win streak. ... Memphis became the third Division 1 program to win 350 games since the 2000-01 season. The others are Duke (380 wins) and Kansas (379). ... Houston has allowed 70 or more points in 17 games this year and lost 10 of them.
