No. 9 Kansas 74, Texas Christian 48: Jeff Withey scored 18 points and the host Jayhawks overwhelmed the Horned Frogs for their fourth consecutive victory.

Freshman Ben McLemore added 14 points and Travis Releford and Perry Ellis scored 12 apiece as Kansas (23-4, 11-3 Big 12) assured itself of remaining atop the conference standings while avenge a stunning loss at TCU on Feb. 6.

Devonta Abron scored a career-high 18 points off the bench and grabbed nine rebounds as TCU (10-17, 1-13) lost its fifth in a row and dipped to 1-13 in its last 14 games.

On a day when Kansas celebrated 115 years of basketball and honored its 1988 NCAA championship team, the Jayhawks played like world-beaters, scoring the first 11 points to quickly remove any suspense from the game.

The Jayhawks, coming off a double-overtime victory at Oklahoma Sate on Wednesday, kept pouring it on and closed the half with an 18-0 run to take a whopping 38-9 lead into halftime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Jayhawks shot 53.1 percent in the first half and improved to 15-1 at home while giving coach Bill Self his 499th career win. ... TCU's starting five was scoreless and shot a combined 0-for-14 in the opening half. ... Kansas had scored only 13 first-half points in the shocking defeat at TCU but matched that total 5:39 into Saturday's game.
