No. 7 Miami (Fla.) 76, Virginia Tech 58: Shane Larkin recorded 22 points and six assists as the Hurricanes shook off a slow start and cruised past the visiting Hokies.

Kenny Kadji added 20 points for Miami (23-4, 14-1 ACC), which improved to 13-0 at home as it prepares for a showdown at No. 3 Duke on Saturday. Larkin, who was 8-of-12 from the field, also produced 25 points in a 73-64 victory at Virginia Tech on Jan. 30.

Erick Green, the nation’s leading scorer, finished with 16 points to lead Virginia Tech (12-16, 3-12). C.J. Barksdale and Robert Brown added 12 points apiece for the Hokies, who have lost 10 of their last 11.

Miami went 11:09 without a field goal in the first half before taking over in the final six minutes for a 38-19 lead at intermission. Larkin scored 12 to lead the way and the Hurricanes registered 23 of the final 28 points in the opening 20 minutes.

Trey McKinney Jones added 11 points for Miami, which never allowed Tech closer than 16 in the second half. The Hurricanes, 11th in the ACC in free-throw percentage, were 14-of-16 from the line in the first half and shot 50 percent from the field for the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami has a two-game lead in the loss column on Duke in the ACC standings. The Hurricanes beat the Blue Devils 90-63 on Jan. 23 in Miami. … Green scored fewer than 20 points for only the third time this season. He had 30 against Miami earlier in the season. … Miami’s Reggie Johnson had eight rebounds, giving his 803 in his career to place eighth on the program’s all-time list.
