No. 24 Akron 88, Ohio 81 (OT): Demetrius Treadwell had a career-high 21 points and the Zips extended the nation's longest winning streak to 19 with a tough road win over the Bobcats.

Akron (23-4, 13-0 MAC) had a two-point lead in the closing seconds, but Ohio's Jon Smith scored a tip-in with seven-tenths of a second to play to force the extra period. From there, it was all Zips, who outscored the Bobcats 16-9 in overtime.

Jake Kretzer was 6-for-6 from the field, including hitting all five of his 3-point attempts, and finished with a career-best 19 points for the Zips. Alex Abreu had 16 points, nine assists and five rebounds while Zeke Marshall had 16 points and seven boards.

Ohio (20-8, 11-2) was paced by D.J. Cooper's 26 points, including five 3-pointers. Walter Offutt added 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Travis Wilkins contributed 12 points and Reggie Keely chipped in 10.

The Bobcats led for much of the first half, taking a 41-30 advantage to halftime. But the Zips opened the second half with a 19-4 run and never trailed again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Zips finished shooting 50.9 percent from the field, including 50 percent from 3-point range. … After losing the rebound battle by 18 in the team's first meeting of the season, the Bobcats were edged by one Wednesday 36-35. … Akron completes the road portion of its MAC schedule with a trip to Buffalo on Saturday. Ohio looks to bounce back when it hits the road to face Bowling Green on Saturday.
