USC 89, No. 11 Arizona 78: Eric Wise scored a season-high 22 points and the Trojans put a dent in the Pac-12 title hopes of the visiting Wildcats.

Four other players scored in double figures for USC, which had not beaten a ranked team since toppling Arizona in February 2011. Byron Wesley scored 18 points, J.T. Terrell had 14 and Jio Fontan and Aaron Fuller contributed 12 apiece for the Trojans (13-15, 8-7 Pac-12)

Solomon Hill led the Wildcats (23-5, 11-5) with 21 points, six assists and five steals. Kevin Parrom contributed 16 points and Mark Lyons finished with 14 for Arizona, which dropped a half-game behind first-place Oregon. The Ducks host Oregon State on Thursday.

The Trojans shot 58 percent from the floor while building a 42-36 first-half lead. They led by as many as 10 before Arizona scored the final four points of the half.

USC sank 12 of its first 16 shots in the second half to maintain the lead. The Wildcats made a final push to get within six with 3:15 left but missed five straight field-goal attempts, allowing the Trojans to stretch their lead back to double figures.

GAME NOTEBOOK: USC shot 6-for-10 from 3-point range against a team that came in ranked 266th in the nation and 10th in the Pac-12 in 3-point field-goal defense (35.7). … Trojans C Omar Oraby, a 7-2 junior transfer from Rice, had a season-high five blocked shots to go with four points and eight rebounds. He fouled out with 4:22 remaining. … Arizona C Kaleb Tarczewski fouled out with 3:50 left. He finished with eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.
