Freshman Tyrone Wallace matched his career high with 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the host Bears pulled away late for their seventh straight win.

Justin Cobbs added 16 points for California (20-9, 12-5 Pac-12), which held the Buffaloes to a season-low 23.1 percent shooting and clinched a first-round bye in the Pac-12 tournament. The Bears led 44-39 with 6:25 before closing the game on an 18-7 run.

Xavier Johnson had a team-high 14 points along with seven rebounds for Colorado (19-9, 9-7), which was held to 15 field goals and scored a season-low 46 points. The Buffaloes trailed by four after scoring a season-low 20 points in the first half.

The Bears’ David Kravish recorded his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and California remained one game out of first place in the Pac-12 with one game to play. The Bears have won nine of their last 10 games to dramatically improve their chances for an NCAA tournament bid.

Colorado freshman forward Josh Scott scored four points on 2-of-10 shooting and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds after missing two games with a head injury. Andre Roberson and Spencer Dinwiddie were held to nine points apiece on 6-of-24 shooting.

GAME NOTEBOOK: California improved to 14-0 when leading at halftime. … The Bears made all 10 of their free-throw attempts and snapped a three-game losing streak against Colorado. ....The Buffaloes finish the regular season with two home games against the Oregon schools.
