No. 19 Virginia Commonwealth 93, Richmond 82: Sophomore guard Treveon Graham scored 21 points to lead five Rams in double figures as host Virginia Commonwealth held off the Spiders to stay alive in the Atlantic 10 race.

The Rams (24-6, 12-3), playing on senior night, also received 16 points from junior forward Juvonte Reddic and 13 from senior guard Darius Theus. A pair of guards, junior Rob Brandenberg and freshman Melvin Johnson, came off the bench to combine for 23.

Richmond (17-13, 7-8), which had its at-large bid chances for the NCAA Tournament dealt a severe blow, was led by junior guard Cedrick Lindsay's 22 points. Freshman forward Terry Allen came off the bench and recorded 13 points and 10 boards.

The Spiders opened up a seven-point lead with four minutes to play in the first half, but the Rams stormed back, hitting a 3-pointer in the final seconds to lead 43-41 at the break. Richmond tied the score at 79 with 3:13 to go, but an 11-0 run by VCU handed the Spiders their 11th straight loss at the Siegel Center.

The Rams committed six turnovers, compared to Richmond's 15. Virginia Commonwealth's senior class tied for the most wins in program history with 108.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The game featured 11 lead changes. … The schools met twice in a season for the first time since 2000-01. In their first meeting, Richmond overcame a late deficit for an overtime victory. … The Rams shot 54.5 percent from the field while Spiders shot 54.2.
