No. 5 Arizona 69, Miami 50
: Mark Lyons rebounded from an off-game and finished with 19 points as the Wildcats cruised past the Hurricanes to advance to the finals of the Diamond Head Classic.

Lyons, who had just eight points in Saturday’s first-round win, knocked down three 3-pointers while freshman Kaleb Tarczewski matched a career high with 13 rebounds. Arizona (11-0), which is off to its best start since the 1987-88 season, will meet No. 15 San Diego State in the title game on Christmas night.

Miami remained competitive for most of the first half and trailed 21-19 with 6:04 remaining on a jumper by Kenny Kadji, who scored 13 of the Hurricanes' 25 first-half points. However, the Wildcats began to pull away as four different players hit 3-pointers over a 3:12 stretch to key a 16-4 run that left Arizona with a 37-25 advantage at the break.

The Wildcats did not allow Miami (8-2) to get any closer than 12 points the rest of the way and led by as many as 26 late, holding the Hurricanes to 33.3 percent shooting in the second half.

Kadji scored 19 points and Durand Scott added 15 for the Hurricanes, who were outrebounded 44-19.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arizona's Sean Miller collected his 200th coaching win. … Miami C Reggie Johnson, who has four double-doubles this season and ranks 21st in the country in rebounding, missed his second straight game due to a thumb injury he suffered in practice on Friday. … The Wildcats’ bench outscored the Hurricanes' reserves 22-1.
