No. 6 Kansas 88, Iowa State 73: Perry Ellis shot 10-for-12 en route to a career-high 23 points as the Jayhawks took control in the second half of the Big 12 semifinals in Kansas City.

Elijah Johnson scored 14 points and Ben McLemore added 10 for Kansas (28-5), which faces No. 12 Kansas State for the conference title Saturday. Kansas seeks its third consecutive Big 12 crown and sixth in the past eight years.

Georges Niang scored 19 points while Melvin Ejim added 17 for the Cyclones (22-11).

Iowa State was within 38-33 early in the second half before the Jayhawks pulled away with a 17-6 run. Jeff Withey scored seven of his 14 points during the surge, and Naadir Tharpe’s layup with 12:26 remaining pushed the Kansas’ advantage to 55-39.
