Andre Hollins led the way with 26 points and seven rebounds as the visiting Golden Gophers dominated the final seven minutes to run away from the Spiders.

Austin Hollins added 11 points and 11 rebounds while Malik Smith scored 11 for Minnesota (3-0), which closed the game on a 19-0 run. Elliot Eliason grabbed nine boards as the Golden Gophers controlled the glass 54-37.

Cedrick Lindsay scored 15 points to lead Richmond (2-1), which went the final 7:24 without scoring. Terry Allen pulled down 12 rebounds but Deion Taylor was the only other player to score in double figures with 11 points off the bench.

Minnesota jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first three minutes, beginning when Andre Hollins found Austin Hollins for a 3-pointer and ending when Austin returned the favor on Andre’s 3-pointer. Richmond got back into it with a 15-2 burst and went into the half down 40-37.

It went back and forth in the second half, with the Spiders grabbing a 59-55 edge on Kendall Anthony’s layup with 7:25 left. The Golden Gophers called a timeout and took off on a 19-0 burst to finish out the game, with Andre Hollins’ free throws pushing the lead to double figures with 1:30 to play.
