Virginia Commonwealth 81, Belmont 68: Melvin Johnson matched his season-high with 16 points as the Rams snapped the Bruins' NCAA-best 23-game home winning streak.

Johnson made 4-of-7 3-pointers and Juvonte Reddic had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Rams (6-2), who were 7-of-18 from behind the arc. Treveon Graham added 16 points and nine boards.

Blake Jenkins scored 14 points and Evan Bradds contributed 10 for the Bruins (7-2), who made 7-of-13 three throws against 16-of-18 for the Rams. Drew Windler notched 13 points and nine rebounds and J.J. Mann managed 14 points, with most of them coming in the final minutes.

Belmont opened the game with four 3-pointers, including a pair from Windler, and Jenkins scored seven points in less than three minutes to help give the Bruins a 23-11 advantage with 12:23 remaining. The Rams responded with a 20-8 run to tie it at 31 and outscored Belmont 7-4 down the stretch to take a 38-35 lead at halftime.

The Bruins came out and quickly tied the game at 42 and again at 44 before holding the Rams without a field goal for more than five minutes in building a 50-44 cushion. After a timeout, the Rams nailed three straight 3s to go up 53-50 and later led by 15 in the final minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Starting point guard Reece Chamberlain, who averages 10.9 points and 4.9 assists, did not play for the Bruins. ...Mann had three points on 1-of-6 shooting in the first half. ... Graham had 12 points in the final 12 minutes of the first half.
