No. 8 Duke 79, No. 21 Michigan 69: Quinn Cook scored all 24 of his points in the second half and finished with nine assists as the host Blue Devils maintained their series domination over the Wolverines in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Jabari Parker chipped in with 15 points and Rodney Hood added 14 for Duke (7-2), which has won 10 of its last 11 against the Wolverines. The Blue Devils remained the only school in either conference that has yet to lose a home game in the event.

Caris LeVert poured in 24 points and was one of the few bright spots for Michigan (5-3), which hit a season-low three 3-pointers. Mitch McGary posted his second double-double of the season with season highs in points (15) and rebounds (14).

Duke, which never trailed, began to pull away midway through the first half when Hood scored the first five points during a 10-0 spurt that allowed the Blue Devils to gain a 21-9 advantage. Michigan refused to let the margin move past 12 and trimmed the deficit to 46-40 with nine minutes left in the second half on a three-point play by LeVert.

Andre Dawkins countered with back-to-back 3-pointers and capped an 11-2 surge with a high-arcing layup two possessions later to increase the lead to 15 with 6:45 remaining. Cook accounted for 15 of the Blue Devils’ final 22 points – including 10 free throws over the last 1:17 – as Duke’s advantage did not slip below double digits thereafter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blue Devils improved to 22-8 all-time against the Wolverines. … Michigan G Nik Stauskas, who entered Tuesday with five straight 20-point games, was held to four points on 0-of-2 shooting. … Cook was charged with a technical foul with 5:06 left in the first half as he threw the ball at Jon Horford after the Michigan forward shoved him as both players were chasing a loose ball. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski was also assessed a technical foul late in the game after he was not given a timeout prior to a five-second call.
