No. 9 Kansas 69, Baylor 52: Naadir Tharpe scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting to lead the visiting Jayhawks over the Bears in Big 12 play.

Perry Ellis racked up 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for Kansas (17-5, 8-1 Big 12), which rebounded from its first conference loss Saturday at Texas. Andrew Wiggins contributed 14 points and seven rebounds and Tarik Black pulled down nine boards to go with six points for the Jayhawks, who controlled the glass 45-31.

Cory Jefferson's 14 points led the offense for Baylor (14-8, 2-7), which fell to 1-6 in its last seven games and failed to follow up on Saturday's upset of Oklahoma State. Brady Heslip had 12 points and Rico Gathers added nine points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Baylor jumped out to the early lead and stayed in front for more than half of the opening 20 minutes led by Heslip, who racked up all 12 points of his points on four 3-pointers by intermission. Tharpe's 14 points led Kansas in the early going and Wiggins' first make of the game, a half-court shot at the buzzer, capped a 14-3 run to send the Jayhawks into the locker room with a 35-27 lead at halftime.

The Bears trimmed the deficit to three just over seven minutes into the second half but would never get closer. Wiggins scored eight points as part of an 13-5 run to put Kansas up 58-47 with 7:05 to play, and the Jayhawks would sustain a lead of at least 10 points the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas improved to 21-4 all-time against Baylor and is 7-2 against the Bears in the last nine meetings. ... Baylor PG Kenny Chery (turf toe/ankle) returned from a one-game absence and scored three points on 1-of-2 shooting. ... The Jayhawks dished out 20 assists while committing 13 turnovers.
