Minnesota 95, No. 19 Iowa 89: Austin Hollins scored a career-high 27 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists as the host Golden Gophers surprised the Hawkeyes.

DeAndre Mathieu added 19 points and a game-high seven assists for Minnesota (18-11, 7-9 Big Ten), which shot a sizzling 61.2 percent from the floor. Andre Hollins scored 14 points while Charles Buggs tallied a career-high 13 off the bench for the Golden Gophers, who finished 11-of-19 from beyond the arc.

Roy Devyn Marble scored 19 of his 24 points in the first half for Iowa (19-8, 8-6), which lost back-to-back games for the first time this season. Aaron White chipped in with 21 points and nine rebounds while Josh Oglesby netted 16 for the Hawkeyes, who lost the battle of the boards 29-28.

Austin Hollins keyed a 16-2 run to put Minnesota on top 51-41 before Marble scored the last six points of the first half to trim the deficit to 51-47. Oglesby knocked down two straight 3-pointers to pull Iowa within 63-61 before Austin Hollins hit three free throws a short time later to stretch the Golden Gophers' lead to seven with 11:55 remaining.

Andre Hollins nailed a triple to give Minnesota its biggest lead of the game at 80-67 before White's 3-pointer closed the gap to four with 4:15 left. Marble converted a clutch three-point play to make it 82-80 but the Hawkeyes could get no closer as the Golden Gophers made 11 straight free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Austin Hollins started off 7-of-7 from the floor before finishing 8-of-10. … Iowa G Mike Gesell scored 13 points and added five assists. … Minnesota finished 24-of-29 from the free-throw line while the Hawkeyes went 17-of-22.
