No. 11 Virginia 75, No. 5 Syracuse 56: Malcolm Brogdon led the way with 19 points as the Cavaliers defeated the visiting Orange to wrap up their first ACC title since 1981.

Virginia (25-5, 16-1) won its 13th straight game while handing Syracuse (26-3, 13-3) its third defeat in four games following a 25-0 start. The Cavaliers continued to display their trademark defense, holding a fifth straight opponent to less than 60 points, but their offense also stepped up with 50 percent shooting from the field and the arc (8-of-16), not to mention a 39-29 rebounding advantage.

Akil Mitchell contributed 12 points and nine rebounds and Mike Tobey had 11 and eight boards as Virginia outscored Syracuse 48-28 in the second half. C.J. Fair and Tyler Ennis scored 13 points each for slumping Syracuse, which has not reached 62 points in any of its last eight games.

The game was tied at 42 when Virginia scored seven straight points, capped by London Perrantes' 3-pointer with just under nine minutes left. Ennis picked up his fourth foul in the midst of that run and went to the bench before returning with 6:50 to go, just in time to see Brogdon hit a pair of jumpers to make it 56-45.

Ennis made two foul shots to get the deficit within single digits, but Joe Harris scored four points in a span of seven seconds to restore order. Harris shot only 2-of-10 from the field but contributed four of the 19 assists for Virginia, which only committed six turnovers to remain unbeaten since Jan. 13.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ennis scored nine first-half points and Fair had eight as Syracuse led 28-27 at intermission. ... Syracuse F Jerami Grant, who had battled a back injury in recent days, missed all three of his shots and did not score. ... Justin Anderson contributed 11 points in a reserve role for Virginia, making three of his four attempts from 3-point range.
