Baylor 74, No. 17 Iowa State 61: Cory Jefferson scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the host Bears to their sixth win in their last seven games.

Brady Heslip scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half, including a 3-pointer with 2:10 to go that broke a 61-61 tie and started a game-ending 13-0 run for Baylor (20-10, 8-9 Big 12). Kenny Chery added 16 points and six assists and Royce O'Neale grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Bears.

DeAndre Kane scored 20 points, including a career-high five 3-pointers, and Dustin Hogue added 12 points for Iowa State (22-7, 10-7). The Cyclones, despite connecting on 12-of-29 3-pointers, failed to score at least 70 points in a game for the first time this season.

The first half featured seven lead changes and two ties with Baylor going into halftime with a 36-35 edge despite Kane matching his career high with four 3-pointers en route to 17 points. But the Bears countered with an 18-10 edge in points in the paint led by Jefferson's 15 points, including a pair of dunks.

Heslip, who managed just three free throws in the first half, then sank three 3-pointers in less than two minutes to push Baylor's lead to 46-40. Kane's 3-pointer with 4:10 left tied it, 61-61, but Iowa State didn't score again after that while Chery scored eight points down the stretch, including a dunk for the game's final points.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Iowa State F Melvin Ejim, who entered the game leading the Big 12 in scoring (18.9), finished with six points on 3-of-14 shooting and didn't score in the first 29 minutes. ... Baylor made 13-of-17 free throws compared to just 1-of-2 for Iowa State. ... Heslip, who entered the game shooting 46 percent from 3-point range, connected on 5-of-8 beyond the arc with all the makes coming after halftime.
