Dayton 72, No. 16 Saint Louis 67: Jordan Sibert had 14 points, five rebounds and four steals as the Flyers rallied late in the second half to knock off the host Billikens.

Dyshawn Pierre added 11 points for Dayton (21-9, 9-6 Atlantic 10), which trailed for most of the game before taking its first lead with just under six minutes to play. Jalen Robinson added 10 points off the bench while Devin Oliver added nine points and nine rebounds.

Dwayne Evans led the way for Saint Louis (25-5, 12-3) with 18 points and nine rebounds while Mike McCall Jr. added 10 points. The Billikens had a shot to tie in the closing seconds, but Jake Barnett missed a 3-pointer with six seconds to play.

Saint Louis got out to a fast start behind Rob Loe, who scored the game’s first seven points, before Dayton rallied to within one with less than 12 minutes to play. It was a three-point game with just over three minutes to go before the break, but the Billikens scored six of the last eight points of the half to build a 39-32 halftime advantage.

Saint Louis continued to lead for most of the second half, holding a five-point advantage with just under eight minutes to go before Dayton went on a 16-2 run over the next 4:11 to take a nine-point lead with 3:36 to go. The Billikens rallied back to within one with 34 seconds to play on a layup from Evans, but couldn’t get over the hump as Khari Price and Sibert hit a pair of free throws over the final 24 seconds to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Saint Louis finished 21-of-31 from the foul line, which included three missed free throws over the final 3:19. … Dayton won the rebound battle 36-30. … The loss was the third straight for the Billikens, who missed out on a chance to clinch a tie for the Atlantic 10 title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
