No. 16 Iowa State 94, No. 10 Kansas 83: Georges Niang had 25 points and seven assists and DeAndre Kane added 20 points, six rebounds and six assists as the Cyclones defeated the Jayhawks to advance to the Big 12 title game in Kansas City.

Melvin Ejim added 19 points and Dustin Hogue had 12 points and nine rebounds for fourth-seeded Iowa State (25-7), which advances to face Baylor in Saturday’s title game. Kane was 5-of-6 from 3-point range as the Cyclones were 11-of-19 from beyond the arc.

Perry Ellis scored 30 points on 11-of-12 shooting for top-seeded Kansas (24-9), which played without injured center Joel Embiid (back) for the fourth straight game. Andrew Wiggins added 22 points and Tarik Black collected 10 rebounds.

The Cyclones led by 10 points after Niang’s basket with 7:39 remaining before the Jayhawks crept within 79-72 on Wiggins’ basket with 5:30 left. Iowa State answered with five straight points to push the margin out to 12 and protected the lead down the stretch.

Ellis scored 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting in a first half that saw Kansas trail by nine early and lead by 10 later en route to a 48-46 edge at the break. Kane scored eight points during a 15-5 run to start the second half as the Cyclones opened up a 61-53 lead with 13:48 remaining.
