St. John's 84, Creighton 66: Rysheed Jordan scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds and the host Red Storm rolled over the Bluejays to gain a split of the season series.

St. John's (15-8, 4-6 Big East) also got 21 points and 10 rebounds from D'Angelo Harrison and 13 from Phil Green IV to rebound from a blowout loss at Butler on Tuesday. Chris Obekpa was removed from the starting lineup by coach Steve Lavin after being ejected for a flagrant elbowing foul against Butler and didn't score while playing sparingly versus Creighton.

The Bluejays, who beat the Red Storm 77-74 in the first meeting of the season for their first conference win after eight losses, got 10 points and 10 rebounds from Rick Kreklow. Creighton (11-14, 2-10), which snapped Xavier's 19-game home-winning streak last time out, also got double-figure scoring from Geoffrey Groselle (13), Will Artino (12) and James Milliken (10) - all of whom came off the bench.

St. John's buried 7-of-12 from beyond the arc in the first half and raced out to a 52-30 lead at the break. The Red Storm shot 66.7 percent in the first half as Jordan had 19 points.

The Bluejays cut the deficit to 64-48 in the second half as Toby Hegner hit a 3-pointer to cap a brief 5-0 run with 10 minutes left to play, but Creighton could not get any closer. Sir'Dominic Pointer had 10 points and seven rebounds for St. John's, which scored the first nine points and never trailed.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Obekpa called Butler's Tyler Wideman to apologize for his elbow in Tuesday night's game. ... The Red Storm shot 56.4 percent from the field. ... Devin Brooks, who had a double-double last game (13 points, 12 rebounds), finished with nine and four for the Bluejays.
