The Bulldogs dominated inside, finishing with a 36-19 rebounding advantage and a 34-14 edge in points in the paint.

Butler never trailed in the first half, methodically building a 24-14 lead in the first 14 minutes. DePaul rallied to tie it with a 10-0 run highlighted by 3-pointers by Darrick Wood and Henry, but Dunham answered with five consecutive points – the final three on free throws after being fouled on a 3-point attempt – to give the Bulldogs a 29-24 halftime lead.

DePaul started the second half with a 9-0 run and led 38-32 after a layup by Billy Garrett Jr. with 14:35 remaining. Butler answered with a 26-3 run shortly thereafter – highlighted by a pair of Dunham 3-pointers over the next seven minutes – to go ahead 62-43 and the Blue Demons never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.

Crockett's 3-pointer midway through the first half was the 232nd of the season for DePaul, breaking the school single-season mark of 231 set in 2007-08. ... Butler played its fourth straight game without F Andrew Chrabascz, the team's third-leading scorer (11.1) who broke a bone in his right hand in a Feb. 14 loss to Villanova but is expected to return next week.
