LAWRENCE, Kan. -- There will likely be a new No. 1 team when the Associated Press Top 25 Poll is released Monday.

Junior guard Wayne Selden scored 24 points to lead No. 2 Kansas to a 102-74 victory over No. 23 Baylor on Saturday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks (12-1, 1-0 Big 12) prevailed with an efficient offense. Kansas shot 53.7 percent and was 11 of 19 from 3-point range, sprinting to its first 100-point total in a conference victory since 2013.

Baylor (10-3, 0-1) had a string of 61 straight games allowing fewer than 80 points snapped. The last opponent to score 100-plus points against the Bears was Kansas in 2008.

"I think there's no doubt who the No. 1 team in the nation is," Baylor coach Scott Drew said.

The Jayhawks are expected to take over the top spot from Michigan State, which fell to Iowa 83-70 on Tuesday.

Kansas took a 46-32 halftime lead after a scorching start from long range.

Point guard Devonte' Graham put in 3-pointers on two of the Jayhawks' first three possessions, helping to build an 8-1 lead while forcing Drew to call his first timeout 2:08 into the contest.

"Once we see it go through the hoop, then we all just feel like the basket just widens and gets bigger," Graham said.

Selden added three more treys over the next five minutes, helping Kansas to 6 for 7 shooting from 3 and an early 24-4 lead.

"We were so good the first half for eight or 10 minutes," Jayhawks coach Bill Self said. "We made everything, played with energy, got easy baskets."

Selden, who entered second on the team with a 14.8-point scoring average, made his first seven shots from the floor, finishing the first half with 18 points on 7-for-9 accuracy.

"He definitely put on a show tonight," Bears forward Taurean Prince said.

Baylor had other troubles figuring out how to slow down Kansas offensively. The Bears recorded only two steals in the first half while switching frequently between their matchup zone and man defenses.

Baylor's offense struggled before the break as well. They made 9 of 25 first-half shots, including 8 of 21 from inside the 3-point arc.

"Any time you come to Kansas, you know they're going to bring it, and they're going to bring their best game," Bears point guard Lester Medford said. "We've just got to get better as a team."

Selden's 24 points were one off a career high. He made 9 of 16 field goals and 5 of 6 from 3-point range to go with five rebounds, four assists and zero turnovers.

"Just trying to do things to help the team win," Selden said.

Senior forward Perry Ellis added 17 points, while Graham tied a season-high with 15 points for the Jayhawks.

Kansas won its 25th straight conference opener dating back to the 1991-92 season.

"If anything, it might be tough to coach (them)," Drew said, "because they have too many options and too many weapons."

Baylor was led by forward Prince, who scored 17 points and was 12 for 12 from the free-throw line. Medford posted 15 points - one off a season high.

The Bears' best offense came at the free throw line, where they made 25 of a season-high 31 attempts.

Baylor, which hosts Oklahoma State on Tuesday, will get another chance at Kansas in a home matchup on Feb. 23.

"It's a great opportunity to see how much we get better between now and the next time we face them," Drew said. "I'm excited to get to work on that."

The Jayhawks, meanwhile, have a short turnaround, as they face Oklahoma at home Monday in what could be a matchup of No. 1 versus No. 2.

"It was a good team win. Everyone contributed," Self said. "And of course, Wayne was fabulous."

NOTES: Kansas' 11-game winning streak is its longest since the 2012-13 season, when it won 18 straight. ... The Bears fell to 0-14 at Allen Fieldhouse. ... Baylor is 8-8 against Top 25 teams since the start of last season. ... The Jayhawks have won 31 straight at Allen Fieldhouse and six in a row against the Bears. ... Kansas F Hunter Mickelson played a season-high 17 minutes while tying his season high with three blocks.
