Al-Amir Dawes had a game-high 25 points and added five rebounds and five assists to help Seton Hall pull away from Northeastern for an 88-75 win on Wednesday night in Newark, N.J.

The Pirates (5-2) shot 59.3 percent from the field, including 75 percent (18-for-24) in the second half. They scored 46 points in the paint for the game.

Kadary Richmond posted 21 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Jaden Bediako (13 points) and Isaiah Coleman (11) also scored in double figures for Seton Hall.

Bediako also pulled down eight boards.

Jared Turner led Northeastern (3-5) with 18 points. He hit five 3-pointers.

Four other Huskies scored at least 10 points, including Harold Woods, who had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Seton Hall scored two of the first three second-half baskets on layups by Richmond and Dawes. However, the visitors were 4-for-5 shooting out of the break and closed within four following a 5-0 run. The Huskies also trailed by four after Masai Troutman hit a triple with 17:08 left in the game.

The Pirates' 10-0 response came in less than two minutes, highlighted by Dawes' back-to-back threes to make it 56-41.

Turner's two connections from deep during a 10-2 run cut into a 15-point Pirates lead, bringing the Huskies within seven at the halfway mark of the half.

A Coleman fastbreak layup made it a 10-point game with 8:15 left, but Seton Hall's advantage dwindled down to seven just over a minute later after two free throws from Woods, who scored six straight Northeastern points.

Coleman drained a 3 to begin a late stretch where Seton Hall led by double digits for 2:50, but another Turner trey had the visitors in an eight-point game with 3:16 to go.

Richmond's layup capped a 7-0 run that put the game out of reach in the final two minutes.

Northeastern led 4-0 early, but 10 unanswered points allowed the hosts to take control. Coleman's behind-the-back move for a transition layup closed the Pirates' go-ahead spurt.

Dre Davis canned a triple while scoring the next seven Seton Hall points, but answers to each bucket kept the margin at four just over midway through the first half.

The Pirates led by as many as nine until they closed a 7-0 run with 4:17 left. Jaquan Sanders' tough layup off a Dylan Addae-Wusu dish led to a three-point play that highlighted that stretch.

Northeastern closed first half on a 9-2 run, going into the break trailing 36-29.
